Why can't I place my order?
If your billing address does not match your bank's record exactly, your order will not be placed. An authorization/hold will be placed on your credit card every time you attempt to submit an order.

What is an authorization/hold?
An authorization is NOT a charge. It is monies held by your bank which guarantee we can collect payment for your order.

How can I remove the excess authorization/holds on my credit card?
The duration the hold will stay on your account depends on the bank that issued the authorization. The average duration is 7-10 business days following the initial authorization. The authorization expires after that. Some banks validate authorizations for up to 30 days. We cannot delete or reverse an authorization. However, if you want to reverse the authorization immediately, please provide us with your bank's fax number & full credit card number, and we will make every attempt to help you from our end.

Can I confidently purchase a Versatile Corset online?
Our high quality corsets are designed and custom crafted to fit better than mass produced "off the rack" garments. We take special care to obtain all the necessary measurements and information to make sure your corset fits properly. In addition, our corsets are fully lined and reinforced with ribbing around the waist to make sure they do not tear or stretch. All of our corsets also feature a satin lacing guard for comfort. We stand behind our craftsmanship so if you're not totally satisfied with your garment, we'll work hard to remedy the problem and make sure you're completely happy with your purchase. Will I be comfortable and able to breathe wearing a Versatile Corset?
Corsets by Versatile are created to fit your body so it's snug, but not uncomfortable. A well-made corset fits comfortably at the ribs and hips and compresses only your waist, allowing for easy breathing. If any corset is painful or uncomfortable, please do not wear it.

How much will my waist be reduced?
Versatile Corsets are designed for a 3-4 inch waist reduction depending on the style of corset. If you'd like more restriction, or if you would like your corset to lace closed in the back, please notify us at the time your order is placed.

Versatile Corsets specializes in custom made corsets that will fit and flatter you beautifully. We make corsets for men and women of all genders, body types, shapes and sizes.

Will my corset help me lose weight?
A corset is not a weight loss program. If you would like for your corset to be used along with a diet program, we recommend this be done with proper nutrition and exercise, and only under the supervision of your physician. A corset restricts your waist and causes your organs to re-align. However, your stomach, while compressed when wearing the corset, will return to normal size when you take it off. If you wish to maintain organ re-alignment while sleeping, an underbust style corset or a comfortable Versatile Sleeping Corselet is recommended, under the supervision of your physician.

What corset style(s) do you suggest for a male?
For a male shape/figure, we recommend the Violet Underbust Corset or Fern Underbust Corset. These styles have been designed to be worn discreetly under men's pants, if so desired.

Can I lend my corset to a friend to wear?
Your Versatile Corset will mold to your body contours like a fine pair of shoes. Lending it to someone else to wear is not recommended.

Are you corsets and fashions guaranteed?
All custom merchandise from Versatile Corsets is guaranteed to be free from defect and may be returned for repair (or replacement at our discretion) at no charge within 30 days from date of receipt. No non-defective returns/exchanges or store credits will be accepted after 14 days of receipt.

How do I know my Corset Size?
When you order a corset, there is the option of a standard size or a custom size. After your order is placed you will receive a request for measurements. If a standard size will fit your figure then you will not need to order a custom-fitted corset. If we determine that your measurements would best be suited to a customized corset, we will let you know, and you will have the option of paying the custom fee, or ordering a standard size if you choose. We will always tell you which will be the best option for your figure, but you will have the final say. Standard Bust and Hips are restricted by approximately 3” and Waists are restricted up to 4”. Measure yourself, then subtract those amounts from those areas and you will find your corset size. If you do not fit into the standard size (of the corset you have ordered) in ALL THREE AREAS, you will require a custom corset. We can modify a corset, but there is a hefty reconstruction fee, often more than the cost of originally ordering a custom corset. What is the difference between a corset, a corselet and a fashion bustier or fashion cincher?
Corsets are designed for the customer who wants to restrict their waist and create a more curvaceous figure. A 4” reduction (in design) is standard for our corsets. As such they are designed with interior and exterior qualities and materials to facilitate this without tearing. A fashion bustier or fashion cincher is designed with the sexy look of a corset, but they do not provide restriction. Their favorable qualities are different. They are lighter in weight, and tend to have several options for front closure (or no front closure). Because they require less material and time to fabricate, they are a less expensive than an authentic corset.

How should I clean my Versatile Garment?
You may use a damp cloth for spot cleaning, and a fabric refresher (such as Febreze*), only on the INSIDE of the corset, for light odor removal. Dry Cleaning is recommended when spot cleaning is not sufficient. Do not put your corset into the washing machine or dryer under any circumstance.

Can your corsets help my back problems?
Using a corset to help alleviate pressure on the spinal column is sometimes recommended by physicians for various back problems. We advise you consult with your doctor before attempting self-treatment. If a corset is recommended, you may find wearing it backwards, with the steel busk (front closure) lining up with the backbone gives excellent support and relieves pressure. For men, the Violet corset is perfectly suited for this purpose. Please make certain to let us know if this is what you plan to use your corset for so that we can manufacture your corset with its use in mind.

What is “BBT”?
BBT refers to “Boning, Binding, and Trim”, which are all components of the corset. “Boning” are the metal stays that divide the sections of the corset vertically. They are what give the corset its shape. “Binding” refers to the fabric that covers the front busk closure, as well as the back lacing area (the front center and back center of the corset). “Trim” is the fabric that caps the top and bottom of the corset. We can make our garments all one color or with contrasting boning, binding, and/or trim.

I purchased a Corset and after a few wears the boning has popped out.
Although your corset is designed to be worn tightly, you still need to take the time to break it in slowly. A corset must be worn loosely laced for a few weeks before it is accustomed to your body, and then you can cinch it more tightly. We have found that if you cinch down too far and put too much strain on your corset too quickly, you will have problems with the boning or fabric not staying true to form.

I’m trying to match a previously purchased item.  What do you suggest?  
In order to offer the large selection of fabrics that we do, we often purchase small runs of select colors.  Since dye lots can change with each purchase, we cannot guarantee that items will match anything we’ve carried before.  However, we try our best to get the closest possible color to what we previously carried.  We suggest you request a fabric sample of the current dye lot before ordering.

Can I receive fabric swatches?
We can send you up to 5 small swatches to anywhere in the United States, free of charge.  Overseas customers are required to pay shipping only.  To order, please email us with a list of your 5 desired swatches and your shipping address.  Swatches are only available for our made to order items and we cannot supply swatches for many of our in stock pieces. Fabric must be in-stock for a swatch to be provided.

We do often take custom made projects for customers.  Please send us a detailed email of the garment you’d like, fabrics desired, and A PHOTO/SKETCH for us to view.  We will be able to tell you at that time whether it is a project we can take on.  These projects are priced on an individual basis and can include additional pattern and fabric finding fees. sales@versatilecorsets.com

I want a corset style you no longer offer.  Can this be done?
Yes, of course!  Barring supply issues, we can re-make almost every item we’ve ever done. Please note that not all old fabrics can be obtained, but we can create many of the styles that are no longer available in our catalog.

Do you make items out of a customer’s own fabric?
Yes, we often do this. As long as the fabric CAN be made into a corset/fashion, we offer this service. There are no discounts or fees for this service. When will my backorder arrive?
Backordered items are those which our suppliers are unable to predict when they will have more in stock. Items that are not currently in stock will be placed on backorder. If this occurs you will be given the opportunity to cancel or change your order.

What time frame should I expect? (How long will my order take)?
Since each garment is made to order, the normal manufacturing time is between 3 and 4 weeks. Note that shipment time and cost must be added to this. If you choose Rush Service (see below), additional fees apply and will be calculated by the shopping cart system.

What if I want to cancel my order before it arrives?
Orders can be cancelled up to 72 hours after they are placed.  Please contact us immediately via email or phone to cancel your order so that production does not begin on your items. Orders cancelled after 72 hours will be assessed a 20% restock fee. If you wish to cancel your order and receive a refund, you must immediately contact customer service for assistance.

What should I know about Rush Fee Service?
Rush Fee Service is offered on an as-available basis. At times our factory is too busy to handle any additional Rush Orders, and/or component materials may not be available. In such cases we will notify you by email or telephone. “15 Day Rush” refers to manufacturing time (in work days) only. Choose the appropriate shipping option for your needs. The manufacturing time period begins from when your payment clears.

Our “made to order” products take approximately 3-4 weeks, unless rush service is purchased. Items that are in stock are specifically labeled that way and do not offer a “time frame” option.  We can't guarantee that every item will be in stock. Items that are not currently in stock will be placed on backorder. If this occurs you will be given the opportunity to cancel or change your order.

How long does shipping take?
We do not ship on the weekends and certain major holidays. UPS and USPS do not deliver on these days so keep that in mind when counting the number of days it will take to receive your package.
We do not require a signature upon delivery.
Delays in Shipments:  We cannot be held responsible for delays in shipments once they have left our facility and are in the hands of the shipping company.
International Orders:  Please select "international shipping." We cannot be held responsible for customs fees or import taxes or delays in shipments in foreign countries.

Is a signature required for delivery?
All domestic orders over $500.00 will require a signature at the time of delivery. We do not require a signature at the time of delivery for orders under $500.00.
If you live in an area that is not secure, please request a signature confirmation by contacting customer service. We are not responsible for packages that are unclaimed or go missing.

Are there any Tarrifs/Taxes/Customs Fees applicable when shipping overseas?
Yes, there may be fees, depending on the individual country’s policies. Any taxes, tariffs or duties levied must be paid by the recipient of the order, we will not bill you for any of these charges. It is required by law that we include a commercial invoice with your order. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for any confiscations by customs. Any and all duties, taxes, and tariffs levied are the responsibility of the customer.

Please be aware that these charges are the customer's responsibility and are beyond our control. We advise that you contact your local customs office for information on what these charges might be before you place your order.

How do you handle backorders?
While we try to maintain a high inventory level on the in-stock items, there are times when a particular style, color, or size is not in stock.  If this is the case, we will e-mail you that the item is on backorder and ask if you would like to wait for the product, replace it with a different item, or cancel that part of the order.  Our made to order items are never on back order, but you may be required to select a different fabric, in the event that the current selection becomes unavailable.

What is your Return Policy and 30 Day Guarantee?

All items purchased from Versatile Corsets will fall into one of these categories: Custom Made, Lingerie or Ready Made

Custom Made Clothing and Corsets
All items Custom Made or Made to Order by Versatile Corsets are not eligible for return. These items have been made according to your personal selections in fabric, style and measurements. These are one-of-a-kind garments. Note: We are willing to do alterations (when possible), for simply the shipping cost, up to 30 days from when you received your order. 

In the extremely rare situation where we are willing to accept an exchange, a 20% re-stocking fee will be applied as a store credit or exchanged item. No refunds will be issued on garments that we deem to have been subjected to abnormal abuse or stress. Items that have been worn, have a scent on them (such as cigarette smoke, body odor or perfume), or are not in new condition will not be accepted for store credit or exchange.

Once a custom item’s fabric has been cut, we do not provide refunds.  

Lingerie is not returnable nor exchangeable. This includes bras, panties, girdles, garter belts, corset liners and stockings.

Ready Made All corsets that are not custom made fall under our 30 Day Guarantee. This policy states that if your non-custom corset does not fit to your satisfaction, or you are unhappy for any reason, you may feel free to return it within the first 30 days for a full refund, exchange or store credit. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping. If you would like to return or exchange your corset please email us at sales+returns@versatilecorsets.com to start the returns process and to receive a Return Authorization Number. We cannot accept returns/exchanges without a Return Authorization Number.

  • Non-custom corsets may be returned for a refund of the price paid for the corset, not including shipping, for any reason (unless it was final sale or a special order) within 30 days of the purchase date. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs and tracking information.

  • All returns/exchanges must be in “New Condition”. Absolutely no stains, marks of wear, loose glitter, pet hair, or odors of any kind. Note: We suggest you do not over tighten your corset, and please wear it over a t-shirt, during the trying on period.

  • Return your corset in the original protective plastic bag.

  • Lingerie and Accessories are not eligible for returns/exchanges/credits and they cannot be returned to you if they are shipped back to us.

  • Clearance, sale, special order and final sale items are NOT eligible for return/exchange/store credit.

  • For your protection please purchase insurance for any items that have been approved with a Return Authorization number.
